Update- Zachary will  get a Pick line put in tomorrow at 1pm.

Happy Belated St Patrick’s Day!!

And Happy Birthday to Wade!!!

Zachary had another rough night last night; He was screaming in pain from 11pm-2:3oam and the DRS up here are worthless. At 2:30 I demanded an X-ray of his stomach and chest, Zachary has another illus and his lungs are decompressed at the bottoms which is common when you have 2 big surgery to close together and not walking around. Zachary’s Hemoglobin is now 7 and his blood pressures are back up to 132/100 on 5 blood pressure meds. The positive is that he is off Oxygen and playing his Wii today, our Neighbor Karen brought up some games for him to play.

Tomorrow is a big day for Zachary; he will be going down for some very important test to determine if his N-G tube can come out and if his stomach is working properly. He is still having some pain but it is pretty under controlled with his PCA Narcotic; p1010049which he is supposes to be in the ICU in order to be on this Medication. The reason why he was having so much pain yesterday was when he started to crash the DRS had to give him Narcan it’s a drug that wipes out all pain Meds and gets his heart beating again. Well it took all day yesterday and night to finally get caught up on his pain.

I am still waiting on a plan to get out of here; but i do know we need to get his Bowel sounds back and for some gas again!! So basically back to square one.

Thank you for all your prayers, Please keep little Lynnea in your prayers.  www.callisonchronicle.blogspot.com

p1010046Zachary has been having a lot of pain today, so they have been giving him a lot of pain meds. Around 3:30 Today Zachary’s Oxygen  levels  dropped pretty fast along with his blood pressure, his respirations were very shallow and slow. Yea I was scared; the nurse put oxygen on him and his Oxygen levels still were not coming up and they were unable to get his blood pressure up. About 5 mins later  the DRS came in and had to give him Narcan to reverse the effects of his Medications and to get his heart beating again. Zachary is stable but is now on Oxygen. They also did a chest X-ray to look for fluid in his Lungs.

We pray that we keep moving forward and no more steps back!!

Thank you for all your prayers,

Stacey

Zachary had a rough night with pain and being really itchy from the narcotics, I had to rub his poor little tummy and head all night. I feel so bad that he is starting all over from a recovery stand point. Then DRS came in and all they keep saying is your Zach is such a little fighter with all that he has been through.

Zachary will start TPN again for about another week and hopefully get him back on his J-tube feeds, depending on if his stomach will work again properly. Being on TPN is really hard on Zachary’s Transplanted Kidney and now that he is in Kidney Failure again it is even harder on him.  Zachary is still having high Blood Pressure again even with him being on 5 Blood Pressure Meds! I am trying to get Cardiologists involved to make sure his heart is handling all this stress.

The plan is in 3 days to do a die study to see if his stomach or esophagus is still leaking if not we will try to give Zachary small sips of water to see what happens. We are having a hard time keeping Zach here at the U of M and are ready to Transfer him to Mayo, the U of M has made too many mistakes. The nurese here are wonderful but the DRS need to communicate alittle better.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, Please keep Lynnea in your prayers she is 4 months old  and is on a heart-Lung bybass machine   www.callisonchronicle.blogspot.com

Zachary is out of surgery Mar

Zachary is out of surgery and it didn’t go as planned, a 5min surgery to dilate his esophagus turned into  almost a 6hr surgery and very big mess. When DR Hess tried to dilate the esophagus he perforated his stomach which is very dangerous for Zach. So DR Hess had to reopen Zachary’s poor little tummy again! When he was opened again they saw that his stomach and esophagusp10100451 was twisted; not good. Dr Hess had to take down the Nissen and said that he should never have another Nissen again , well he should of listened to me in the first place!! I was trying to tell these DRS that I didn’t want him to have a re-do Nissen! The plan is to wait 3 days and see if his stomach will work again. Zach has had a lot of surgeries on his stomach and you can only have so many surgeries before things don’t work right. The DRS are also worried about his Hemoglobin being so low , him being Iron deficient and being in Kidney failure again is not helping him at all. Zachary’s little body is fighting pretty hard right now.

The bad part about Zachary not having a Nissen his that Zach will be J-tube fed the rest of his life and we are not sure if his stomach will work properly again. Time will tell.

Please keep Zachary in your prayers, We met another family up here with a little girl  that also needs a lot of prayer.      www.callisonchronicle.blogspot.com

Thank you,

Stacey

Urgent Prayers request! Zachary went in for surgery at 11am, thinking it would be a quick surgery to dilate his esophagus well it didn’t go as planned they had to re-open him again because his stomach had twisted around the esophagus and was leaking fluid which is very dangerous for him and he could get very sick. Zachary went into this surgery with high blood pressure and he is very anemic.

We need lots of prayers, I will update when I know more.
