I am READY !! Bring it ON!!

This is going to be a long road… Zachary is very sick…

Zachary is in 3 different rejections.. Which is not good… and this is very very very rare… they have not seen this.

Acute rejection…chronic rejection ..and a rare antibody rejection..

we are all very scared..

His bodies antibodies are fighting.. and killing his Kidney

The only thing to save his kidney is to do Plasmapheresis..

The Plasmaphersis is like Dialysis, but they say it is harded on him and his body.

last night they were unable to put the dialysis catheter in because his blood pressures and his potassium is way to high and it is to dangerous for him to have the surgery last night. He had also ate dinner and with his pneumonia it is just way to dangerous.

So they started him on high doses of steroids for the acute rejection, and now his blood pressures are as high as 147/127!!! The Drs. are very concerned.

The plan today is to bring him down to surgery between 7 -8 am  to put the dialysis catheter in and pray that his lungs can handle it.

The chances of saving this Kidney are slim, but we are trying everything….

Zachary had another rough night..  His blood pressures are out of control!! I am getting scared!   Last night he grabbed his head and started to cry. His head was pounding he got really dizzy and he could not see out of his left eye. His blood pressures had jumped to 137/107 fast, because 1/2 hr before they were 120/ 77. The Doctor are worried that he is now getting high cranial pressure, Not good!

I am so glad that we are here…

The plan to is to Biopsy the Kidney at 11-am TODAY

We now know that something major is going on with this kidney…

If he is in Acute rejection they will start him on IV steroids..

If he is in chronic.. It will tell us that he is getting worse and fast and there is nothing we can do..

I hope It is fine.. But I think I will take the Acute rejection, at least they can treat it.

I am going on maybe   4 hours of sleep in the last 2 nights, and is getting over a nasty sinus infection. which I feel is coming back at full force.

I know we just got here, but Zachary is having a hard time being her  :(     They are always checking his labs.. He has no more vein and I think he is getting sick of them always checking his blood pressures.

Summer fun!! I wish we were there!! And not here!

Today has been a busy day for Zachary…

1st Labs…… Out come Not good… His labs are getting worse

Kidney Ultrasound… Ok

ECO Heart Ultrasound ” Just because his blood pressures are so high”… No results yet

BINGO!!! and YES he WON !!! He loves BINGO

last night was a rough night for Zachary..  He was coughing half the night and then this morning the throwing up started. The Doctors are pretty positive that he is aspirating. He is fine all day and then night comes and when he lays down everything comes right back up. They are talking about doing another 24-hr acid reflux test to see how many times he refluxes.

The plan tomorrow is to Biopsy the Kidney to see if he is in Acute Rejection, or the chronic is getting worse.

Now they are thinking that his chronic is getting worse…  Not good! Chronic there is nothing they can do. if it is acute they can put him on IV meds to stop it. Chronic they just wait for it to go…

Please pray for good results tomorrow Zachary needs a break…  :)

Zachary is in the Hospital…  :(   We came in this afternoon. He had his labs drawn this morning and they are just not doing what they need to. His creatinine and BUN “kidney function” just keeps going up! Not good…

I picked him up from school and took him home for a nice warm bath. I gave him a little talk about how his kidney is not very happy and needs to see the Doctor. The first thing he said was” do I get to play video games” All I could do was laugh… Zachary loves video games… So, He was Ok with heading to the hospital as long as he gets to play his game.

They drew his labs when we got here and they are just getting worse..  they also put an IV in to give him extra fluids and the did another X-ray to see what his lungs are doing.

The plan tomorrow is to look and see if he is in Acute rejection. That means that they will have to do a Biopsy. I don’t have a time yet, but I will update as soon as I know.
