We went home last night!! but guess were we are NOW!! back at the U of M. Zachary aspirated last night when he was sleeping. He now has a fever and severe aspirating pneumonia. I feel so bad:( he is feeling pretty yucky!! It happened so fast.

before tube..

Zachary is back at the U of M hospital 5a 218..
Zachary was just sedated to put a tube in his nose for a 24 hour study. This picture above is the before picture and the one below is the after. Zachary is doing pretty good The plan was to keep us for a few days but one of Zachary’s drs. is not on, so we might get to go home tomorrow night. Zachary gets his tube out tomorrow at 3pm and if all goes good we are hopefully out of here!! the only bad.. his blood pressure today are 130/96!! not liking that… might keep us in here.
I will update later whem I know more.

We just finished packing are bags for Zachary’s hospital stay tomorrow. This hospital stay they are going to do some test to see how bad Zachary is refluxing stomach acid back into his Lungs and Esophagus. They are also going to do some farther testing for his next Kidney Transplant. We are so thankful for everybody that has called in to get tested to see if you could be Zachary’s HERO.. I am speechless… I got pulled over today, I just can’t stop thinking of all the wonderful people out there. The officer was pretty nice I gave him Zachary’s website. Maybe he is reading this. Thank you for letting this one go
Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day …we need to be to the hospital by 10 am.. at noon he goes down to be sedated to put the tube in his nose to monitor the acid in his stomach. Zachary will also have his labs drawn ,I pray that they are better and not have not gotten any worse. Overall Zachary is feel better and has a little more energy.

Happy Thanksgiving….

We are Thankful for being home as a family and to celebrate Thanks for so many things. This has been a very tough year for Zachary and our family. Zachary has had many surgeries and horrifing complications. Sitting in a waiting room not knowing if your child is going to make a through a surgery, praying over your child’s bed, praying just to take him home one last time so you can be a family all under on roof. Yes, We have many things to be thankful for. We are home.. all as a family. We have made it through many difficult obstacles , and have many handles to still over come. Almost 5 yrs ago My husband, father and Hero gave Zachary a second chance at life .He has giving Zachary 5 Years of life that he would of not had without his life saving Transplant. thank you Wade!! WE LOVE YOU!!
We are thankful for our family, friends and complete strangers that have helped through these difficult times and have come forward to see if they can help and be Zachary’s HERO.. I can’t even put it all in words. Thank you…

Zachary has been pretty tired lately and not feel the greatest. His energy level changes every other day. One day he is wild and the next he wont even get out of bed. I am not sure why he has so many ups and downs. On Monday Zachary is going back into the hospital for more testing. The plan is to only be in for a week, but we will see how he does.

Our family is so thankful for everybody that have called to see if they can be Zachary’s Hero. I know that people have called and are still waiting for a cal back. BE PATIENCE … They will call you back. The Transplant center is open again on Monday from 9 am to 4pm and I am thinking A LOT of people are calling for Zachary.
It brings me to tears knowing how many people are wanting to help. I just can’t thank everybody enough!!!

The plan for this week is Zachary is going to be admitted on Monday morning at 10 am. He will go down for sedation to put a tube in his nose into his esophagus to monitor the acid in his stomach and to determine how many times he refluxes into the back of his throat. Zachary has had 2 Nissenfundoplactions and his last one they perforated his stomach and they had to do a Nissen take down. Zachary is getting aspiration Pneumonia and now has chronic Lung damage. The Drs. want to see how bad he is refluxing to see if they need to repeat a 3 rd Nissen, which no DR want to do unless he is critical

Zachary had a Doctors appointment today with his Urologist. The DR had a very had time cathing him through his Mitrofanoff. I have been the only one that can Cath him. About a month ago when Zachary was going through his Rejection, they were suppressing his immune system by doing Plasmapheresis , IVIG and his high dose steroid treatment to try to save his Kidney. His Mitrofanoff” for catherizing” him got a false passageway. Zachary had surgery to try to fix it Laparoscopic. They were unable to open him because he was so sick. Well Zach’s Mitrofanoff is having some issues again, and this time they will have to open him up for another surgery to fix it. The DR is going to wait until we are done testing him next week for his esophagus and Lungs. Depending on results they might try to repeat a 3rd Nissenfundoplication and fix his Mitrofanoff at the same time. This is going to be another big surgery for Zachary. More than anything he needs a new Kidney.
I quit counting for surgeries 2 years old , than he was at 30!! I have no clue anymore how many Zach has had. We just take one day at a time and pray for tomorrow to come.
