Happy Birthday to my Special little Zachary!!
On December 17, 2003 my life changed for ever. I gave birth to a 6lb 3oz baby boy not knowing the life struggles that he would endure. We named him Zachary. When Zachary was 2 weeks old the Doctors told us that he was in kidney failure and would need a life saving Kidney Transplant to save his life.
Now 7 yrs later riding many roller coasters with lots of ups and downs… You have taught not just me, but many others what life is all about !! We have learned so much through your eyes about the power of pray and how precious life is…..We LOVE you Zachary !!

Sorry for no-updates..

On Wednesday night Zachary started to have blood in his urine… I wasn’t to concerned until Friday night it was very dark. I called the on-call Kidney Dr and they said to bring him on in. We headed to the U of M at 10pm Thursday night… It was a very long night of lots of labs , Catscan and they put a IV. They were concerned because Wednesday night My 2 boys were wrestling and Austin had kicked Zachary in the tummy. (( Not good))

All the test came back good! He had trauma to the kidney and the kidney started to bleed. The kidney was able to clot off by it self and the bleeding stopped by Saturday night. We are home and, Yes we had a very long talk with the boys and NO more wrestling!!

Its very hard because Zachary’s Transplanted kidney is in the front.. There is nothing protecting it. Zachary needs to be very careful the rest of his life . Its sad, because he is very athletic and he is not able to play any contact sports.

Overall he is doing great !

Today is a very special day ….6 yrs ago to day December 1, 2004 Zachary was giving another chance at life !! I still can’t believe that it has been 6 yrs !! Thank you Wade for saving our son and giving him life

Zachary’s Labs are stable with no change which is good… The blood pressures are a big concern and his body is not able to get rid of the extra fluid which is also a big concern. ..The Dr’s added that Blood pressure med again (Enalipril).. The one that Caused his creatinine to jump. At this point we need to protect his heart and try everything to get his Blood pressures down.
I am bringing him back in for labs again on Friday just to keep a close eye on his labs..
