Help Zachary      Zach needs a new kidney!!!

After a very long day, down at Mayo Hospital we finally got home at 9pm.

We had a very long talk with the Peds Transplant Kidney Doctor. After going over all of his Medical and everything that Zachary has been through the Dr was unable to talk about what to do next, or if they will even take him on.

Zachary is very complicated and they feel that they want to do a full work up on him next Friday with there Lab machines, ultrasounds and x-rays. After they do there work-up then we will sit down with there Transplant team and see if they will even take him on. They have never delt with a child his age with his high Antibodies.

I am a little worry because he would not even discuss what treatments they have or if they will even take him on. He said lets do a work up and see what we find.

I did like on how he was very worried about his kidney function, how HIGH his blood pressures are and he did NOT like that he gets reoccurring Aspirating Pneumonia. He did say that some changes would have to happen. I like changes …I just want Zachary to feel better and live life like a little boy should.

I am very anxious for next Friday…. I just pray that they can come up with a plan and hopefully take him on.

They also drew Wade’s labs to see how close of a cross match he was to Zachary  for his 1st transplant. They want to see if Wade was maybe not the best possible match for Zachary’s for his  1st Transplant. Interesting….We are all trying to figure out why Zachary rejected, and we all want answers.

After a long day …We stopped and ate Hot Dogs at a little Hot Dog shop…Very Good food :)

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers :)

Tomorrow we are down at Mayo Hospital in Rochester . Our goal is to find a Dr. to help Zachary. Zachary’s antibodies are so high and right now he has no chance of finding a Kidney. There have been over 600 people that have called in to get tested and we still have no match.Hopefully tomorrow we have have more answers or a plan.

Zachary is still doing Awesome !! The last 2 days his energy has gone down. I think he has been pushing himself way to much. his legs are very swollen at night and his blood Pressures are very high 130/90′s.

Overall , he is doing GREAT!! His labs are looking better and we pray that over time his Antibodies will start to come down. Now that he is infection free, hopefully his body will settle down.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey

Zachary is full of LIFE !! He is still doing Awesome ! He Had Drs. down at the U of M today and everybody was in shock to see how great he looks… I think these Drs need to have a meeting to figure out how this infection got missed for so many months. He was lifeless and we watched him get sicker and sicker each day not knowing if he was going to make it to Transplant. He is in Kidney failure, but he was acting a lot sicker than he should.

Tomorrow is another day to enjoy with our Amazing Son ! It’s so nice to see him smile, Run, Ride his bike and play with his Friends. Tomorrow is also lab draw day… I am praying for a Miracle !! He just looks and feels so good. I pray that this infection was causing his creatinine “Kidney Function” to be high. The only bad is his Blood pressures are still high. Today at clinic after his BP’S meds his BP’S were 127/87. Still way to high still on 4 BP’S Meds.

Thank you for all your prayers,
Check out the sparkle in his eye’s !!
