Zachary and Austin had a party Saturday night

Wade is still in Montana with his family. Grandma Bernice is still in the hospital holding on, What a tough lady she is…. Now I know were Zachary gets his spirit and his well to live …… Wade is planning on  flying  home tomorrow.

Zachary has been feeling pretty pukey and very tired this whole weekend. He also has had bloody urine since Saturday. I am a little worried. …

The plan this week is to re-draw his labs again and see what his little body is doing… Next Monday, March 8th Zachary is having another big surgery to fix his Mitrofanoff and to repair his lower unit. I have no clue how long he will be in… I just pray that his body is strong enough to have another big surgery. Iwish this surgery was for a new kidney. but I know this surgery needs to be done before he does have another Transplant.

I want to thank everybody for all your thoughts and prayers.. Zachary has touched so many people, and has taught us to hug a little tighter and to take your time and stop and smell the Roses. We live day to day and we never know what tomorrow will bring. We just enjoy each day that has been given to us.

Zachary is having a good day… He has been very tired and watching lots of movies.  It is so nice to see him smile and laugh… It still seems like almost every other day is good and bad. I can’t wait until everyday is good. It is so hard to watch him get sicker and sicker. His blood pressure have been good , but his labs are not the best. He is still not sleeping at night , so either am I.  He is not really eating so he is 100% dependent on his J-tube feeds. His favorite food is cheese and if you know the kidney , cheese is not a good food for your Kidney.  Zachary still vomits daily .. Some days all day and others not so much.

Zachary will be having another surgery on March 8th at the U of M.. They will be fixing his Mitrofanoff that has some false tracks and is starting to cave in.. They are also going to repair his lower unit.. Zachary had a hypo-spadious when he was a baby.  They repaired it when he was 2 yrs old. Well, It broke loose and now he has some holes that need to be closed. Not Fun..

Please read this.. It brought me to tears.. I do have a brave Soul.

The Brave Little Soul
By: John Alessi

Not too long ago in Heaven there was a little soul who took wonder in observing the world. He especially enjoyed the love he saw there and often expressed this joy with God. One day however the little soul was sad, for on this day he saw suffering in the world. He approached God and sadly asked, “Why do bad things happen; why is there suffering in the world?” God paused for a moment and replied, “Little soul, do not be sad, for the suffering you see, unlocks the love in people’s hearts.” The little soul was confused. “What do you mean,” he asked. God replied, “Have you not noticed the goodness and love that is the offspring of that suffering? Look at how people come together, drop their differences and show their love and compassion for those who suffer. All their other motivations disappear and they become motivated by love alone.” The little soul began to understand and listened attentively as God continued, “The suffering soul unlocks the love in people’s hearts much like the sun and the rain unlock the flower within the seed. I created everyone with endless love in their heart, but unfortunately most people keep it locked up and hardly share it with anyone. They are afraid to let their love shine freely, because they are afraid of being hurt. But a suffering soul unlocks that love. I tell you this – it is the greatest miracle of all. Many souls have bravely chosen to go into the world and suffer – to unlock this love – to create this miracle for the good of all humanity.”

Just then the little soul got a wonderful idea and could hardly contain himself. With his wings fluttering, bouncing up and down, the little soul excitedly replied. “I am brave; let me go! I would like to go into the world and suffer so that I can unlock the goodness and love in people’s hearts! I want to create that miracle!” God smiled and said, “You are a brave soul I know, and thus I will grant your request. But even though you are very brave you will not be able to do this alone. I have known since the beginning of time that you would ask for this and so I have carefully selected many souls to care for you on your journey. Those souls will help you create your miracle; however they will also share in your suffering. Two of these souls are most special and will care for you, help you and suffer along with you, far beyond the others. They have already chosen a name for you”. God and the brave soul shared a smile, and then embraced.

In parting, God said, “Do not forget little soul that I will be with you always. Although you have agreed to bear the pain, you will do so through my strength. And if the time should come when you feel that you have suffered enough, just say the word, think the thought, and you will be healed.” Thus at that moment the brave little soul was born into the world, and through his suffering and God’s strength, he unlocked the goodness and love in people’s hearts. For so many people dropped their differences and came together to show their love. Priorities became properly aligned. People gave from their hearts. Those that were always too busy found time. Many began new spiritual journeys, some regained lost faith – many came back to God. Parents hugged their children tighter. Friends and family grew closer. Old friends got together and new friendships were made. Distant family reunited, and every family spent more time together. Everyone prayed. Peace and love reigned. Lives changed forever. It was good. The world was a better place. The miracle had happened. God was pleased.

UPDATE ON DR. APPONITMENT TODAY..

I am crying here as I am typing.. The 2 potential matches for Zachary were not a match. Zachary’s stubborn antibodies rejection them on round 2 testing. I am so scared for Zachary, 100s of people have been tested and no match has been found. The other bad news is Zachary will be having another big surgery next week to repair his Mitrofanoff and his lower unit. I will update later when I know more.

Wow , almost 3,000 fans on “Save Zachary” How Amazing !! This week we should hear something about the 2 potential matches. The waiting is so hard…. Zachary creatinine “Kidney function” took a big jump last week. They are re-drawing him this week. I pray that his labs last week was a false read.

Tomorrow we are down at the U of M all day for Drs. appointments for Austin and Zachary. Austin has been having bladder issues for about 2 months. The Drs. are worried , and want to make sure that he has no kidney issues. Austin is having an ultrasound of his kidneys and x-rays. Zachary is also seeing his urologist tomorrow. We are talking about when he will have his next surgery to repair his mitrofanoff and his lower unit. This will be another big surgery…Zachary’s body is to weak and sick for another big surgery. They will have to open his little body up from top to bottom again. I quit counting 2 yrs. ago … I have no idea how many times my child has been put under or opened up.  But I do know that Zachary has taught us so much… I learned to live life and love my children like today might be the last, and you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Austin is still covered in hives… he is miserable .. I am trying to get him in to see a dermatologist. I don’t think it is viral because no one has gotten anything in our house not even Zachary. We are not sure what is causing Austin’s hives, but I pray that we figure out soon. It’s hard has a parent to watch your child miserable.

I just want to thank everybody for all your thoughts and prayers.. Thank you, to all of the HEROS that have gotten tested to see if  they  can save our little boy.

I also want to thank my wonderful husband who works so many hour to keep us a float.. He is the hardest working man and best father any one could ever ask for. We love you Wade :)

Zachary last summer

Zachary last summer

It has been very crazy the last couple of days… Austin broke out in hives on Saturday, which looked like Chicken pox’s . I brought him to the clinic on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. By Friday morning when he woke up his face and head were so swollen he could hardly open his eyes. So off to the ER on Friday morning. They drew lots of labs and checked a urine. The out come is just a nasty viral that is causes these awful hives with mild ango-edema. That means swelling of the head and face. They put him on prednisone, benadryl ,Hydroxyzine, Tylenol and Zyrtec . So now we pray that Zachary doesn’t get this.

Zachary had his labs drawn and his labs are AWFUL

Now I am waiting to see what the plan is for him. I fear that they might admit him. His Creatinine , BUN and some of the other of labs are higher then normal. I pray that he is not going into rejection again.  I just pray that we find a match soon before he loses any more function.

There are over 2,700 fans on Zachary’s (Save Zachary) facebook and lots have called in to get tested. Thank you… You are all HERO’S.

UPDATE..

The Drs. are thinking Austin might have the chicken Pox’s please pray that if he does, Zachary does NOT get them.. I talked to the Transplant team and any sign of Zachary getting them he will be in the hospital on heavy duty IV meds. Check out Zachary and his new Quilt from” Quilts of Love” He loves it !

We had a beach party ….

Playing with sand in the house ( What a mess )

Playing with sand in the house ( What a mess )

The kids had fun playing with moon sand in the house.. It was a BIG mess but worth it. This winter has been long and COLD !!  We are all going NUTS …

I am Home from Chicago… Home sweet HOME !  Kiley did Awesome in her Gymnastic meet ! There were 4,100 gymnast competing from Thursday to Sunday… This was the BIGGEST meet that I have ever seen.

Kiley did AWESOME ! She placed 2nd on floor ,tied for 2nd on beam , 4th on vault, 9th on bars and took 4th on the all around out of her age group. She had so much fun !

This was my 1st time in 6 yrs. that I have been away from Zachary.. It was very hard.. Wade stayed home with the boys .. Wade was pretty busy doing medications ,  filling the feeding pump,  changing ferrel bags , dumping urine and just tryning to keep his head on a straight… He did a great job ! I think he has a better understanding now when he coms home from work and I am all stressed out.

Zachary is doing pretty good his labs are stable and blood pressure are back down again… He has not had a bowel movement in a week so his tummy was pretty BIG ! I gave him a fleet enema today and he had great results.. I think he lost about 5 pounds !

Austin is sick and covered in heivs…. Yesterday as soon as I got home from the Air port I put Austin in the car and drove him to the clinic. The Dr thinks it’s something viral but not sure…When he woke up today  his face was pretty swollen and his body is covered in welts. I feel so bad for him..

Overall we are all good and now it’s the waiting game again to see if maybe one of the potential matches Zachary  and he will have a HERO. One was drawn on last Wednesday and one was drawn on Monday. Hopefully in about 2 weeks we will know the results.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey
