To borrow the words of the great Martin Luther King, Jr., ‘I have a dream’ for all of you and your child. My dream, my hope is that I may have the blessing and the honor of joining you in watching you son or daughter grow up and live a long and healthy life. Please know that I will do all within my power to make that dream a reality.

And my dream, my hope for you is that, regardless of your situation or circumstance, you come to know the truth about God and his amazing love and grace.

Yesterday, the country celebrated the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. Here are some wonderful quotes from Dr. King, a great Christian man of deep faith and hope:

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.”

“Their can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love.”

“I decided early to give my life to something eternal and absolute. Not to these little gods that are here today and gone tomorrow, but to God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

Zachary had his labs drawn yesterday… The results are stable and no change… His blood pressures are as high as 147/106 !! Way to high !!

Yesterday Zachary and his potential donor “Christine ” had there labs drawn.. It is now in the hands of God and we pray that he guides us through our journey. We should know the results by Monday. Either way Christine you are a HERO !!

Last night Zachary had another rough night. He sleeps in my bed 95% of the time and last night he was not able to sleep unless he was holding my hand. Every time I let go he woke up. It was a long night. This morning he is feeling much better and is playing his Wii. He loves his video games.

Tomorrow Zachary is having his Dialysis catheter taken out. They will have to put him to sleep to pull it out. The Drs. decided to take it out because we are only using it for lab draws . Zachary has had it in for 4 months and they worry about him getting a blood infection. I can’t wait for it to come out ! Zachary has not had a bath in 4 months ! That is way to long for a little boy. I will update after tomorrow.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey

This is Zachary about 3 weeks ago..I thought it was cute.. Today Zachary was very tired and is not looking good…. He never complains and he will always smile and say everything is ok…. I feel helpless… I know his little body is tired and he just fights through, like nothing is wrong. The only way I can tell that he is not feel well is when he just wants me to lay next to him and hold him.

I talked to the Transplant team on Friday and we have it all set up to draw Zach and his potential donor on Monday the 18 and then it needs to be Fed-xed within hours to Chicago. Please pray that they are a perfect match…..

The Transplant team still wants people to call in and get tested..Dont give up, They are swamped with Many other families that are also going through the Transplant process just like us.

On the list right now 105,000 people are waiting for the same call that we are waiting for. The call to save Zachary’s life. That is  a lot of people living day to day not knowing what tomorrow is going to bring. On that list 18 people die every day that didn’t get that call. I fear that we might not get that call….. But with wonderful people like you , we have had over 100 people call in to get tested.  Thank you   :) You are all HERO’S

We do have one potential match… Christine is one amazing lady of 2 children. Christine also has a daughter with kidney disease. We meet 3 yrs. ago at Camp SunShine  for a Kidney camp. How amazing is that ! Almost 3 yrs later she is back in our lives wanting to save our little boy and give him a chance at life. I cry thinking about how amazing this women is, and I pray that she is a  perfect match. Please also pray for her family and her little girl with Kidney disease.

Please also pray for luke

Watch out here I come !

Watch out here I come !

DSCN0410 We are home… Zachary is feeling much better ! They didn’t do much on this visit because there was nothing to do .

Overall the out come is that Zachary needs another Kidney Transplant. He is maxed out on Medications 43 ! Wow , that is just way to many….. I feel sick just putting them into his little body. His Blood pressures are doing much better 125/85. Still high but much better. He is on 5 Blood pressures, and still running like that. His vessels in the Kidney are restricted and don’t have good blood flow. That is why his pressures are so hard to control.

Zachary is still being continuos drained from his Mitrofanoff. Until he has another surgery in Feb or March to fix his false track. Zachary still has his Dialysis catheter in, so I always worry about blood infections. The Drs. are not willing to take it out because they never know what Zachary’s body is going to do.  Oh, and I can’t forget about his GI issues…. That never go away…. It’s a day to day struggle….He is still hooked up to his ferrel bag to help relieve the pressure in his stomach  and he is back on 24 Hr J-tube feed… Yes, my son looks like Robo Cop……With all of his tubes.

But nothing holds him back ! He is just like a normal 6 yr. old little boy that lives life to the fullest.

The plan is to wait day to day and see what Zachary’s body is going to do. Well, and live life to the fullest!! I wish it was summer so we could be out side.

On Tuesday a wonderful family donated there very nice Treadmill to our family to help get Zachary to walk more. ….. Zachary ‘s bowels just don’t move … for an example , he had a barium study done with contract and 17 days later they did an x-ray and the contract was still in the top of the small bowel and had not moved. Zachary was put on Go-Lytley for 3 days before having a BM. Well, that is Zach for you… Zachary has had small bowel obstructions for the last couple of years.. They have had to open him up and remove part of his bowel to fix his obstructions. Zach has had so MANY surgeries were he has been open from top to bottom countless times that he has developed lots of scar tissue in his belly. So he is always at risk for having bowel obstructions. Not fun… :(

Thank you for this wonderful gift…. Dave and Stacey

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey
