P1010180 The HopeKids walk was a blast! and we raised $250.00!!! Thank you to everybody that helped us reach our goal :) next year lets reach $1,000…

Zachary, Austin and Kiley all ran 1 mile !!  I can’t believe that Zach and Austin made it!! at the end of the race they both got a medal!! kiley took 2nd in her age group, so she was pretty excited!!

Zachary had a doctor’s appointment last Tuesday with his Kidney Doctor. She was not to happy with how he is still peeing blood on and off, so the next plan is to do another surgery to see if there might be a blood vessel next to his mitrofanoff that is getting nicked when I catheterize him. If that is the case then they will try to move it, and if that is not possible then they will have to remove it. They also want to scope the bladder to see if anything is going on in side the bladder. I will update when I here more.

Zachary is still loving school :) But is very tired when he gets home.. When he comes home he talks non stop!! :)  last Friday when I picked him up he was talking about how his friend in his class pulled the fire alarm. No, He was not involved, but he said he was very scared.

On October 10, we are walking in the National kidney  foundation Walk again.. last year we has 25 people walking with us!!! lets try to beat that!! Our goal is $1,000.00! We have only 20 days left… so if you want to walk with Team Zachary or if you would like to donate please click here. Zach’s Kidney Walk website

Zachary and Megan

Zachary and Megan

My baby is all grown up!!!! Today was a very special day!! Zachary started KINDERGARDEN!!!! And I cried!….:(

I still remember the day when Zachary was two weeks old and the Doctors told us that Zachary would need a Kidney Transplant to save his LIFE!!! And look at him NOW! He is 5 years old, and  he has beat the odds!!  and proved all these Doctors wrong! He made it! And had a blast on his 1st day of school!

I pretty much hung out in the parking lot all day, crying! well I needing to hang out to train the nurses on how to give him his medication and how to catheterize him and hook him up to his feeding pump… I also met him for lunch… I think I had a harder time than he did.

Zachary goes  to school every other day for the whole day! That is a lot on any little guy especially when you have medical issues like he does.. So 8 p.m. came and he crashed in seconds!!

Kiley also stared 4 grade yesterday!!! I can’t believe I have a 4th grader!!! Kiley loves her teacher, and has lots of friends that she met last year.

Don’t forget we are walking in the hopekids walk September 20, and we have raised

Zach man!!

Nothing!… All we need is 20 people to donate 10.00!!! Our goal is only 200.00!!! come on Zachary’s fans we can do it!!!

The family

The family

Tomorrow at 11 am Zachary will be going into another surgery to replace his G-J tube and to cut out a growth that he has growing around his site . It should be a same day surgery but we will see how he does with the anesthesia. Every time he goes under anesthesia it seems to get harder and harder for his little body to come out of it. Hopefully we will be in and out!!! but I am not counting on it…..

Today was a very special day for Zachary!!! He had his first open house for Kindergarden!!!….. Well he was excited… But I am TERRIFIED!! He is my baby and I am not ready to let him go! We are still having lots of problems with getting all the paper work in order so the nurses can care for him at school. He will go to school with his feeding pump and the nurse will have to cath him and give him his medications. Yesterday, I had the honors of training the school nurse, a RN on how to cath Zachary, he was a little scared… But he did let her Cath him. I have always done all of his cares even when we are in the hospital, so this is hard on Zachary and me. As a parent with a sick child you feel that you are the only person that can care for them… But now I have to step back and let him grow and be his own little person.

School starts next Wednesday… He will go every other day for full days… Hopefully he can make  it through the whole day. If he is unable to than he will have to do half days and be home schooled the rest.

Don’t forget to check out the ABC news paper on Friday!  They will be running a story about Zachary and how important Organ Donation is.

Check your drivers license!!!!!

Zachary!

Zachary!

Also don’t forget about the HopeKids walk on September 20th!!!!  http://www.active.com/donate/suburbanadventure/Selsenp

And the Kidney walk October 11!!!!!

And don’t forget to pray for a fast recovery for Zachary’s surgery tomorrow!!
