Zachary is in the Hospital…  :(   We came in this afternoon. He had his labs drawn this morning and they are just not doing what they need to. His creatinine and BUN “kidney function” just keeps going up! Not good…

I picked him up from school and took him home for a nice warm bath. I gave him a little talk about how his kidney is not very happy and needs to see the Doctor. The first thing he said was” do I get to play video games” All I could do was laugh… Zachary loves video games… So, He was Ok with heading to the hospital as long as he gets to play his game.

They drew his labs when we got here and they are just getting worse..  they also put an IV in to give him extra fluids and the did another X-ray to see what his lungs are doing.

The plan tomorrow is to look and see if he is in Acute rejection. That means that they will have to do a Biopsy. I don’t have a time yet, but I will update as soon as I know.

Zachary’s lab are still the same, his Creatinine and BUN “Kidney function” is still high. At this point I’m getting a little worried. The last 5 days I have hydrated him so much,  I’m worried that his Kidney  Function is getting worse. The plan is to re-draw him again on Wednesday.. If his labs have not improved than it is time to sit down with his Doctors and come up with a plan.

Zachary is also still fighting a nasty cough. I did send him to school on monday because he has been fever free and has missed so much school already. I went to his school  and met him for his first hot Lunch. He had chicken nuggets. It is so fun seeing him interact with his friends and being a normal little boy.

Zachary is feel much better, but is still fighting Aspiration Pneumonia. He is up all night with a nasty cough and throwing up, he is also very restless at night. But during the day he feels great!

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday poor Zachary had to be poked… they have been checking his labs daily because his creatinine  ’Kidney function” has been high. Today it has come down a little, but now his BUN has jumped up. The BUN is toxins in your blood that make you feel sick.. So on Monday they are re-drawing his labs again  to make sure that they keep heading down the right direction.

It is so nice that Zachary has a J-tube. Because if he didn’t we would be in the hospital on IV’s… With him having a J-Tube I’m able to make sure that he is getting enough fluids and all of his medication.

Hopekids walk 2009!

Thank you to everybody that helped us reach our goal for the HopeKids walk!!! We ALL HAD A BLAST!

Zachary has been sick all week with a nasty cough and a low grade fever. He seems to be fine during the day but night time is awful! I feel like I have a new born, up every hour with him coughing, puking, itching or his feeding pump beeping… Not fun!

I brought Zachary in to have his labs drawn and they are AWFUL!! Than Just now I got a call from his Doctor saying that his X-ray shows that he has  Pneumonia in both lungs. I am still waiting for the Kidney Doctor to call back to see what the plan is. His Creatine “Kidney Function jump up quite a bit.

Hopefully we don’t have to make a visit to the U of M! Especially now, with the H1N1 that freaks me out. Our neighbor who is almost  2 years old was very sick with it last week.

Please pray that Zachary’s kidney is not getting any worse and his lungs to heal.
