Summer fun!! at the park

These pictures are all summer fun!!!

We are home!!! We came home yesterday just in time for my sister’s Wedding which was today at our house!! Talk about stress. The Doctor’s were a little worried about sending him home as long as he stays on bedrest for another week. Yes another week in bed! Try to keep a 5 year old down! Not going to happen. But today he did stay in bed and played lots of video games and watch some movies. We will have to see what tomorrow is going to bring us.
I still can’t believe that falling off a bed could cause this to damage the Kidney, but i was wrong. When Zachary does get up or is moving around he still has blood clots in his urine, so that worries me because if he bleeds for 24 hours straight then we are back in the hospital.
The Doctors also said that now he has damaged the Kidney more it has become more acceptable to recurring problems, so Zachary now has to be extra careful.
Please pray for Zachary’s Kidney to heal and for the bleeding to stop.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers

Our streak of being home is over… 4 months at home was ASWESOME!!! You forget after a while how nice it is to sleep in your own bed, but then you are reminded when you end up in the hospital for an unexpected visit. Last night We brought Zachary to the ER at the U of M because he was peeing blood all day.   After lots of Lab draws that had to be redrawn 3 times!!! Let me say 3 times!!! because the blood kept clotting they finally got his results around 3 am. They also did a Ultrasound that showed some trauma to the Kidney.

Zachary was just being a active  normal kid that was sitting on a air mattress that was not filled up with alot of air and Kiley came running into the room and jumped on the mattress and he got launched onto the hardwood floor. Zachary landed on his head but after about 5 mins he was fine, So we went about our night and I put the kids to bed. The next morning I went into Zachary’s room to drain his urine bag and his bag was full of blood. I was not to worried because he has had blood in his urine before. Well after he peed 2 more times and he was still peeing blood we decided to take Zach to the ER. I would never of thought falling off a bed on your head to cause Trauma to the Kidney… Well I was wrong.. These kids are so fragile and you forget because he is so normal. He runs around like any other 5 year old and is just living life to the fullest. But today his Doctors said he is not normal and these kids are very fragile . It like putting Zachary in a boxing ring with his hands tied behind his back. Zachary doesn’t have the immune system to fight off infections and to heal like a normal child. He doesn’t have the body that his heart and mind wants to do. Any little trauma to his Kidney to cause his Kidney to ruptrue and that could kill him. This time around did scare me a little knowing that just falling off a bed could be fatel. So yes ,Zachary will have to go back into his little bubble so we can protect him from his normal life that he has tried so hard to live for. But I know Zachary and nothing is going to hold him back .

The plan is to keep him on IV fliuds for acouple more days and hopefully his urine will clear up and his Kidney will have time to heal. They also talked about doing a Catscan if the bleeding doesn’t stop by tonight. So please pray for his Kidney to heal and stop bleeding.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey
