Zachary is still battling a nasty cough and is still throwing up. Zachary is also having REALLY high blood pressure again last night it was 140/90 and today it is 150/110!!! Way to high, I’ am really worried because he is already on 4 blood pressure Meds and they are all maxed out to the highest they can be! I am waiting for the Transplant Doctor to call to see what the next step is.

On Monday I brought Zachary back to see his primary and he now has fluid in his ears and the X-ray shows that he is Aspirating into his lungs again’ not good, so on Tuesday Home care brought Zachary a Hospital bed so we can keep his head up to hopefully help with his Aspirating. Zachary loves his new bed! He thinks he is pretty cool because he has a controller to raise the bed up and down.

Austin and Kiley are also still battling this nasty cough that is going around. Austin had a fever for 3 days and missed school all week, he is finally feel a little better today. Kiley has had this cough since January, and her Asthma has been Really bad this year.

Please pray for Zachary’s Blood Pressures to come down and for this nasty cold to leave our house.

Thank you for all your support and prayers,

Stacey

Zachary is still battling a nasty cough, fevers and is throwing up. I brought him to Urgent care last night and all the DRS could say was “Why Did you bring him here” I don’t like to take him to the ER because everytime I do it turns into a 4 day Hospital stay. I would rather keep him home and have him heal here. I did make another DRS appointment today with his Primary just because he is not getting any better and last night none of us got any sleep, between him coughing, throwing up and his feeding pump beeping, yes It was a long night. I am really worried that Zachary is Aspirating into his Lungs again. This has happened in the past and he sounds the exact same. Zachary doesn’t have a Nissen anymore so most likely we are headed down that same road.

Kiley and Austin are also sick with bad Allergies and there asthma is really flaring up bad this year. Kiley is on 6 Meds to help control her Asthma and Austin is on 3 Meds. It would be great if CVS pharmacy would give us a break on all of our Meds. Zachary is on 24 Meds, so when you total them all just between the kids WOW a Whopping 33 Meds!!! That is a lot! I am so glad that we have Health insurance.

Next week we are down at the U of M for more follow up appointments and test. We are still trying to figure out what surgery and who and where we are going to have Zachary’s stomach and esophagus fix. I really like some of the DRS at the U of M so it is so hard to leave. I just want the best care for Zach’ I know he is complicated and many Drs are even scared to touch him so we need to find that perfect Doctor.

We are very excited for my Dad and my Brother they are closing on their new house next week!!! This house is too houses together so they each get their privacy, but still have each other if they need help. My dad is in his 60′s and thinks he is still only 30!!! So I am glad they are moving in together.

We are also very excited that my Uncle David SR and cousin David JR are coming to visit from California at the end of May. Zachary has never met David Jr, David and his wife Mary have been very supported through Zachary’s life so we are excited to finally see them after MANY years.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Hello to all Zachary’s fan’s, sorry I haven’t updated in a while we have been really busy with lots of DRS and school and just trying to being a normal family.

Zachary is doing great! He is getting bigger and stronger each day’ his weight is now up to 37lb!!!!! YIPEEE!! But we are having problems with high blood pressures 140/90! on 4 BP meds. I am waiting for a call back from the DRS to see what the next step is. The other problem is Zachary is Coughing and started to throw up at night because he has no more Nissen and We are worried that he is Aspirating into his lungs again. If this is the case then we need to do the surgery sooner than later to fix his esophagus. I talked to the DRS yesterday to order a hospital bed for him so he is more up right at night to help keep the acid down in his stomach and hopefully help him be more comfortable at night.

Zachary had a BIG day yesterday! He had Kindergarten round up!! We are planning on sending Zachary to a normal school just like Kiley. We are very scared but we want him to live a normal life just like everybody else. We have great Teachers working with him and there will be to RN on sites to Cath him, give Meds and to help him with his feeding pump. I personally don’t feel that Zachary is ready but I need to let him go. The school is right up the road so if they need me I can be there in a flash!. Zachary is very Excited and had smiles the whole time. He jumped right in with the other kids and you would never guess what he has been through.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers,

Stacey

We had a wonderful Easter with all of our Family; Zachary is getting BIGGER and STRONGER each day! 3weeks ago he was 31 pounds and now he is up to 36.5lb!!!!! Our goal is 41lb, we are almost there. The boys played outside all day Yesterday riding there power wheels and jumping on the Trampoline, Yes; Zachary was jumping too, he is not suppose to but it is so hard to keep him down. You would never guess what he had been through in the last month just looking at him, he is one tough kid.

Zachary is still on 24/7 feeds of peptem, he is wanting to eat everything but his G-tube is still on 24 suction so nothing will bypass into the intestines. Zachary’s Mitrofanoff comes out at least once a day with how active he is, but it is getting a lot easier to put back in. It is just not fair that this happened to him! I feel so bad for Zach he just want to be like he was before the surgery. Every time his Tubes come out he will refer him self to “how he was before his surgery” I keep telling him that things will get better; it just takes time.

Our Van is still in the shop getting a new Transmission and I have been carless; Thank you Aunt Fern with helping us with getting our car fixed, we would never of been able to do this without your help. The Family is doing great Kiley and Austin are finally calming down a little bit with me being home, but they both still need all my attention which is really hard when you are one person and 4 people need you at once that is including Wade; Yes I think this Family really needs me to keep it together.

Zachary full of Chocolate!

No news is good news! All is great in the Elsenpeter house hold; Zachary continues to improve each day. He is getting stronger and is starting to put some weight back on. Zachary’s blood pressures are back up to 140/90′s again the DRS just added a new med today so hopefully we can get that down. Zachary had his labs drawn this week and everything is starting to even out a little better, he will be having weekly lab draws for a while. The other fun thing that I get to do is give Zachary a shot in his leg for his Hemoglobin; how fun does that sound! Yea he’s not liking that one bit!

Wade’s sister Lori and family are in town, so we are all excited to see them for Easter. Judi, Wade’s mom is having Easter this year’ we just pray for everyone to be healthy so we can all be together as a family.

On Wed, Zachary and Austin played outside for hours and hours, it was so nice to see that Zachary is feeling so much better but than today he slept in until 11:30 and then laid in my bed until 2pm. He said his legs were too tired to walk and they needed to rest for a while. After watching 2 movies he decided to get out of bed and him and Austin got into it, yes Zachary is back to him self and they were wrestling on the ground with all Zachary’s tubes. Thank God none of them got pulled out.

Thank you for all your donations, cards and presents they really meant a lot to us and everyday that Zachary got a Card in the mail when he was in the Hospital it brought a smile to his face’ It kept us all going.

Don’t forget to watch the Video……Stacey
