Zachary is doing AWESOME!! He is starting to put some weight back on and his hair is growing out of control! He is turning into my little hairy Monkey. We have been in the Hospital for over a month and are hoping to be home for Easter. We do know that Zach will need another surgery in about 6 months; we need to give his body time to rest and heal.

As a parent we take small  things for granted; the small stuff  like sitting at your dinner table eating a home cooked meal with your family. Giving your kids a bath and the one thing that I really miss is tucking all my children into bed. and giving them a kiss good night.  Our whole family has been split up for over a month. Wade has to go to work, Kiley goes to our neighbors the Esch’s after school Mon-Friday.  Tara a Mom from Kiley’s Gymnastic picks her up Tuesday and Thursday and brings Kiley to Gymnastics and Austin has been staying with Wade’s Parents all week and goes home on the weekends to see wade and Kiley.   After a busy week I get to see my Kids  and my wonderful husband on the weekends.  This is our hectic life.  It is a very hard life but every day I wake up to a smile and each day Zachary is looking better and better I know that I will get to eat dinner as a family and tuck my kids into bed again. But back in my mind I have to prepare myself that life will never be normal and we live day by day not knowing what are next challenge is going to be. So tonight when

My silly BOY!!!

My silly BOY!!!

you get home from work give your kids a big hug and read that extra book because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Zachary is really doing great! We still have a long road ahead of us; but the smiles that he gives me Dailey is worth it. I know that Zachary is here for a reason and he will and has already made a difference in Many people’s life’s.

Thank you for all your prayers,

Stacey

Zachary is doing AWESOME!! And feeling great!! Today we built a Sponge Bob house with Lego’s for 4 hours straight and my mom came up with her puppy Nicki.

Nicki and Me!!

Nicki and Me!!

This is day 38 since Feb!!! We are ready to go home!

Zachary is tolerating 20cc an hour!! of guess what? YES half strength Peptem JR and Pedialite; this is HUGE for Zach. The Kidney DRS are still leaning towards that he will have another bowel obstruction because of the X-Ray and even if he tolerates his feds they are planning on keeping him for a few days just to monitor him closely. I just pray that we can be home for Easter.

The DRS also talked to us about the next surgery that Zachary is going to need in about 6 months to fix the mistake that they did; To redo the Nissen, but next time we are either going to Milwaukee or to the Mayo Hospital. We have a few months to do our research.

Thank you to our friend Jen, she is the one who set up this Website 4 years ago so we could update Zachary’s followers. She is trying to set up a auto email for updates. Thank you Jen!! You are AWESOME!!

Thank you for all your prayers,

Stacey

Check out my fingers; I bit all my nails off!!

Check out my fingers; I bit all my nails off!!

Zachary had a pretty good night, but he is still having a lot of trouble trying to fall a sleep at night. He is still having some Hallucinations about black spiders crawling on him. Zachary had a great day yesterday with lots of visitors and Paul the volunteer came to visit and sang songs with us last night; Zachary really loves his company.

Zachary is still tolerating his Pedialite at 17cc an hour; which is AWESOME!! They are planning on upping his feds to 20cc an hour and then we are going to try half strength of Peptem JR and Pedialite. If he can tolerate half strength then it is time to party!!!!

Our goal to get out of  here-

is for Zachary to tolerate 70cc  an hour for 24/7of his Peptem JR. We still have a ways to go, but at least we are moving forward!!!!

Zachary needs to get off his TPN!!

Zachary’s Iron needs to go up

Zachary needs to get off of all his IV meds

Please keep Zachary in your prayers,

Stacey

Playing his game again and again and again!!

Playing his game again and again and again!!

Last night was really hard for Zachary to fall asleep, his little body was  really itchy until he finally crashed from being so exhausted he kept thinking that spiders were crawling all over him.  He finally fell asleep around 11:30pm and he is still sleeping and it is 9:30.  Zachary really needs his rest, as much as he can get so his body can heal.

The plan today is to keep him on Pedialite, he is up to 15cc an hour!!!  That is AWESOME!!  Last time we tried to feed him when he got to 15cc he was throwing up not stop of green Bio.  We pray that his stomach and bowel start to work.

The goal for us to go home:

Zachary has to tolerate 70cc an hour of his Peptem JR

So yes, we still have a long ways to go, but this time I feel that Zachary is looking  and feeling much better. We are only on Pedialite but this is a big step for Zach.

Please keep Zachary in your prayers,

Stacey

Zachary had a very busy day with lots of surprise visitors, which I think was good for Zachary. Zachary didn’t have time to think about the black spiders, but as soon as everyone left the black spiders came back. I am able to get him to lie down in his own bed, but as soon as you try to cover him up he starts to kick and scream. Hopefully he will have a better night and will be able to get some sleep. The DRS said that the Med should pass out of his system hopefully by tomorrow; if he is still hallucinating tomorrow then they are talking about doing a MRI on his brain to see what else could be going on.

We started Zachary on 5cc an hour of pedialite and within an hour his tummy started to get distended; he did start to pass gas, so we are going to keep the pedialite going until he starts to throw up green Bio again; which we don’t want! If he is not able to tolerate his feds then we will have to discuss another surgery. Zachary can’t be on TPN much long because his Kidney and Liver are taking a beating.

Neighbor boys!!

Neighbor boys!!

Zachary did have a great day! We went on a couple of walks played soccer with some of his friends from the neighborhood and it was so nice to see Kiley and Austin. I miss them so much!!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, please pray that Zachary will start to tolerate his feeds again and his stomach and bowels will start to work. That is all his body needs to do so we can take him home as a family again.
