Zachary is all done with his surgery!!  The surgery was a lot faster because the DR was able to use his Appendix and not the small bowl.  That knocked 2hrs off his surgery. His pain is under control and he is sleeping nicely. They opened him from top to bottom and placed a tube coming out of his belly botton for the Mitrofanoff , a JP tube out of his side for extra blood that pools in the stomach, a super pubic tube above his unit to drain the urine and they moved his G-tube a   little lower.  Zachary is covered in tubes and bandages. Hopefully we will all get some rest tonight and start a new day with no infections and a fast recovery tomorrow.

This is Zachary before they brought him back for surgery.

The DR just came out to tell us Zachary is doing great!!  His old Nissen had completely fallen apart, so I am glad that they re-did the Nissen. Zachary’s bowel was in the wrong place, it had looped itself around the stomach and was on the wrong side.  They also had to make a new hole in the lower part of the stomach for a new G-tube, Did I say G-tube!!! Ya ,no more J-tube feds!!! Now they are working on his Mitrofanoff. We  still need lots of prayers for this text book surgery and a fast recovery!!!!

The Dr just called again, he said they are having a hard time getting to the stomach to do the nissen, his little body is full of scar tissus from all of the surgeries that he has had. So nothing has been done, and he has already been under for 3 hours!!! We are very scared and pray that his blood pressures can stay low, they are on the high side. And we pray for the Drs to complete this surgery with no compilcation. Oh by the way they are still looking for another unit of blood. That scares me!

The DR just called out to say that Zachary is a MESS!!! He is full of scare tissue and adheasions. The surgery is going to take all day!! We need lots of prayers!

Zachary didn’t go in for surgery until 11am. They drew his blood and  his antibodies are really high. They need to have blood saved for a blood transfusion after surgery. It is very scary knowing that it’s hard to find him blood!! I worry that finding a Kidney for him is going to be impossible! The DRS will try to up date us hourly, so i will try to update Zachary’s website.
