Help Zachary      Zach needs a new kidney!!!
Feb 27, 2009

Zachary is all done with his surgery!!  The surgery was a lot faster because the DR was able to use his Appendix and not the small bowl.  That knocked 2hrs off his surgery. His pain is under control and he is sleeping nicely. They opened him from top to bottom and placed a tube coming out of his belly botton for the Mitrofanoff , a JP tube out of his side for extra blood that pools in the stomach, a super pubic tube above his unit to drain the urine and they moved his G-tube a   little lower.  Zachary is covered in tubes and bandages. Hopefully we will all get some rest tonight and start a new day with no infections and a fast recovery tomorrow.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers,

Stacey Elsenpeter

I am so happy to see that he is out and his pain is under control. I know in time you all will adjust to all the new changes. We are thinking of you all, and praying for you and Zach! I’m so sorry that you have had to walk such a scary road, I look forward to hearing of his feeling better and running around and wrestling with Austin and Kiley!

Yay! So glad to hear that the surgery went well, that they were able to use his appendix, and it is all done! Hopefully he will have a quick recovery and we can see you all soon, maybe in time for the next hopekids movie! We will continue to say lots of prayers for him and for you too. I know how stressful it all has been and hopefully soon you will be able to relax a bit!
