 Zachary at 3am!  My sweet heart  Silly boy! I got a call from the Transplant center yesterday and they are very overwhelmed with all the calls. They are getting me a new number on Friday for people to call. Hopefully than they will get back to people sooner. My family and friend are having a benefit for our family we are thinking in June , Not sure now.. We might move it up. I am talking to other Transplant centers in the United states to see if they have any other treatments to get Zachary’s antibodies down. He is at 97% !! That means that he only has a 3 % chance of finding a kIDNEY. !! My Uncle Mike is an AMAZING Artist. He is also an AMAZING Uncle and person…. He is trying to help our family with on going Medical bills. Please read what he wrote and what he is trying to do to help our Family out.
 Dear fellow christians,I’m writing this email in an effort to raise awareness of the needs of 6 year old Zachary Elsenpeter. Zach desperately needs a new kidney. To get a history of Zach’s ongoing problems since birth, log onto his website, www.help-Zachary.com and click on my montage 10/23/2009
I would like to address 3 issues here.
The first being, Zach’s desperate need for a new kidney. Because of Zach’s antibodies, there is about a 3% chance of finding a match. Over 100 people have volunteered to give Zach a kidney. All have been tested and found to be incompatible.
The second being the power of prayer. “We need a small miracle” God knows that there is someone out there that is a match. It’s up to us to find them. Email all your friends and have them bring Zach’s needs up in their church. Encourage them to contact other churches. Thru prayer and God all things are possible
The third being that after viewing Zach’s website, you can only imagine the financial hardship this family has incurred. [even with insurance]

I was looking on the internet at the 100’s of pictures of Christ that have been painted over the centuries.
This is one that made an impression on me. It was the look of love in his eyes. I have no idea of what time in history it was painted or who the artist was. Hopefully it will make an impression on you as well.

 Day # 1 reoveryZachary had an AWESOME night !! His blood pressures are coming down and his pain is under control… I am not use to having no complications and at least some drama.. I think with all of these extra prayers somebody is definitely listen. Thank you so much for all your prayers!! If he can tolerate his feeds this morning we get to go home some time tonight.I talked to the Drs last night about Zachary’s high antibodies.. His primary Kidney Dr. didn’t have any Idea that they were 97% !! I guess the labs value just came out yesterday . I am so worried…… I can’t believe that he now only has a 3% chance of finding a ” “HERO” Kidney……. The plan is to PRAY.. and PRAY HARD that his antibodies come down. He already had Plasmapheresis and IVIG to help but they didn’t stay down to long. We are thinking about checking out other Transplant Hospitals to see what they have to offer.. There has to be some one out there that is doing a study on lowering class 2 high antibodies on Transplant patients. If anybody has suggestions please feel free to email me. We are here down at the U of M.. I will update throughout the day on how Zachary is doing. Update # 1 Zachary’s surgery is being pushed back because of the case in front of him is taking longer than expected. I will update when he goes in. Thank you all for your prayers:) UPDATE #2 4:30 pm We are still waiting for Zachary to go back. I just got Zachary’s results back from his antibodies testing… NOT good news…. Zachary’s antibodies are now 97 % !!!! That means that he only has a 3% chance of finding a Kidney. I am so worried… Plus now he has developed class 1 antibodies… Please pray for him…. UPDATE # 3 6:15 and Zachary finally just went into surgery…After 7 hour of waiting in pre surgery .. Please pray for his body to stay strong. UPDATE # 4 I can breathe !!!! The Dr just came out and said that his Mitrofanoff was an easy fix !!!! Thank you GREAT GOD!!! He was also able repaired his lower unit with no complications !! I think this is the 1st time a surgery has gone with no complications. NOW it’s the waiting game to see how his recovery will be. Please pray for a speedy recovery with no infection or complacations. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.UPDATE #5 Zachary is up in his room but is having issues with very high blood pressures 140/100 !!! Way to high .. The Kidney is under a lot of stress. UPDATE #6 Zachary is now having issues with his Mitrofanoff not draining. The Dr just came in and after about 1/2 hour of messing around with it he was able to get it to drain. They did have to re stitch it in , but Zachary did great !! He is still having very high blood pressures. The last one was down to 133/95.. A little better but still way to high.  Zachary Tomorrow Zachary will be having another surgery … . They are planning on repairing his Mitrofanoff and repair his lower unit. I am so worried for this surgery because his body has been under so much stress and I fear that more trauma to his little body will cause his Antibodies to go even higher. Zachary’s antibodies are all ready to high and if they go any higher , Zachary’s chances of finding a kidney will be impossible. I pray for God to wrap his hands around Zachary and give his body the strength to stay strong during his surgery and to fight any infections. I will update during Zachary’s surgery.. He goes in at 2pm.. Please say an extra prayer around that time.. DONOR SWAP… If you have already have been tested for Zachary and were not a match. There are other options to better chance to find a Kidney for Zachary. It is called the “Paired Exchange” program. All you need to do is call the Transplant center at the U of M 612 625-2186… If you have already been tested for Zachary and was not a match they can still use your blood from the 1st draw. I am being drawn on Monday !!!!
